The Star of Sorell – #Handmade #Beadwoven #Necklace – Red Apple Jasper

This beautiful Matte Red Apple Jasper center caught my eye at a local bead show. I have had it for a few years….just waiting for the perfect inspiration to strike! I mixed matte and shinny beads together to come up with this finished look. Both sides are very different which will allow you to have two looks with just one necklace!
Sorell /so-rell/ [2 sylls.] as a name for girls is a variant form of Sorrel (Old French, Old German). Sorelle is a conventional surname.

This necklace took over 49 hours to complete. I used peyote and herringbone stitch to complete it. The center is made without the use of GLUE or BACKING. The center sets inside beads that are between 11o and 15o (this means there are between 11 – 15 beads per inch). The strap is made with herringbone stitch and it very flexible and strong.

Necklace measures at 17.5 – 9 inches in length and can be lengthened if needed. Gemstones hang 2.5 inches from strap.
