This is my second creation with the wonderful hand-blown glass by UP Novelty Glass. I just love the ‘depth’ of the blue in this glass and because I only did a FRAME on it you can see ‘all the way through’!! I think that this adds even more to the necklace! (Look close at the photos and you’ll see the wood and background behind!) This necklace is a little on the heavy side, partly because it is a larger glass piece and also because of how many Swarovski Crystals I put on it! There are two layers (three rounds each) of fringe!! This is one of those STATEMENT necklaces and is sure to draw interest no matter when you wear it!
Lupinus angustifolius is a species of lupin known by many common names, including narrow-leafed lupin and blue lupin. It is native to Eurasia and northern Africa and naturalized in parts of Australia and North America. It has been cultivated for over 6000 years as a food crop for its edible legume seeds, as a fodder for livestock
This necklace took over 37 hours to complete. I used peyote and herringbone stitch to complete it. The center is made without the use of GLUE or BACKING. The center sets inside beads that are between 11o and 15o (this means there are between 11 – 15 beads per inch).
Necklace measures at 19 – 21 inches in length and can be lengthened if needed. Center hangs down 2.5 inches from top of strap.
