The Sea Keepers Daughter Review and a RED Creation Starts!

Yesterday I told you all about my love of Lisa Wingate’s books, today I’ll tell you more about this particular one!   I was lucky enough to not only get a ‘unpublished’ copy to read, but now I actually have a pre-released copy of the book – The Sea Keepers Daughter!!  I have to tell you, when I first received it I had to smell it….yes, it had the ‘new book’ smell!!   But, on to the story….and boy, is it a good one.

The Sea Keepers Daughter is a story about coming home.  Not just the physical place, but coming home to yourself and becoming the best of yourself.  Whitney is a lady that runs a restaurant and is faced with so many issues and trials that when she is need to take over the huge job of cleaning up he mother and grandmother’s things she thinks it is just more to deal with.  But, during this time she finds and builds a relationship with her step-father that starts as distance and distaste and develops into respect and love.  She is faced with a history of her Grandmother and Mother that she didn’t even know existed and it changes her entire life.  Throughout the book she is forced to deal with her feelings of love, anger, friendship and even a little bit of funny terror (from a squirrel)!  This book will make you think about your own relationships and history.  In the end, like all of Lisa Wingate’s book there is a strong sense of faith (not the pressure you with religion type) in yourself and in life and that in the end there is a path that we can choose to follow to make your lives the best we can!
